Today, Olympus not only announced its second Micro Four Thirds camera, the
E-P2, the firm also disclosed plans for lenses utilizing this system.
Users can expect two new optics in the first half of 2010. The M.Zuiko Digital ED 9-18mm F4-5.6 (18-36mm 35mm-equivalent) is Olympus' ultra-wide-angle offering for the Micro Four Thirds standard. It stands 5cm tall, making this glass the smallest among branded lenses of near/similar focal lengths.
The second optics is the M.Zuiko Digital ED 14-150mm F4-5.6 (28-300mm 35mm-equivalent). Again, it is claiming the title of world's most compact lens of this focal range.
Prices for these lenses were not available at press time. But you can read about our hands-on of the E-P2
here.
