In a
blog post, renowned iPhone hacker
George Hotz, who goes by the alias geohot, said he will release the blacksn0w software on November 4.
For those not in the know, geohot was responsible for providing a hardware unlock procedure for the first-generation iPhone. This latest
update, which comes after blackra1n RC2, lets users SIM-unlock their handsets with iPhone 3.x firmware to use with any GSM carrier. The jailbreak software requires blackra1n and will be free to download when it's released.
