It seems the Taiwanese PC maker is having a little troube with its thin-and-light machines. The following models manufactured before September 15, 2009, have an issue in which the microphone cable under the left palm rest may overheat extreme pressure is applied over a period of time. This could result in system malfunctions and a deformed chassis.
Affected units
Aspire 3410
Aspire Timeline 3810T
Aspire Timeline 3810TG
Aspire Timeline 3810TZ
Aspire Timeline 3810TZG
You can check if your model is one of the recalled units by inputting your serial number at
Acer's support Web site.
The Taiwanese firm says it will simply replace the faulty cable when you send in your notebook.
