It's a relentless race to show off ever better 3D TVs now that many vendors have signaled their interest in this market. The latest is Samsung which has integrated a 240Hz screen refresh rate into its 3D LCD panel. That said, the 55-incher is still based on external shutter glasses technology which most of its rivals are offering at the moment. The problem is we are skeptical over whether this is the right direction going forward, especially when glassless solutions have already been introduced for a while, such as this one at
CommunicAsia 2008.
