There's more than meets the eye for this giant OLED screen showcased by Mitsubishi at Ceatec Japan 2009. And we're not referring to Michael Bay's Hollywood hit, Transformers. You see, Mitsubishi has cleverly worked around the current OLED limitation--screen size bottleneck--by piecing together this mammoth 155-incher using pocket-sized 4-inch panels. A total of 720 pieces of these modules were used to create this impressive display, which can be further upgraded to virtually any size. Another advantage of this modular design is that a curved screen can be easily assembled, too.
Feat aside, we reckon a powerful computer will be required to split the video real time in order to feed each of these panels. Mitsubishi has not announced any tentative launch date for this solution, though the company is planning to pitch it for the outdoor advertising market.
