PDN Gear Guide broke news that Canon will not be taking part in the upcoming Photo Marketing Association (PMA) trandeshow in 2010. This announcement by the imaging giant came as a surprise, considering that it has been a long-time participant of the tradeshow where most vendors will unveil their new cameras.
According to Melissa Dara Moritz, public relations manager of Canon USA, the firm's decision to pull out from PMA 2010 is a result of "changes in the industry". The imaging giant will shift its attention to the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas (CES) instead as it is more in line with Canon's current direction more.
So, instead of showcasing its new cameras at PMA, Canon will probably showcase them at CES instead. After all, the two tradeshows are just a month apart with CES in January and PMA in February.
