The
Acer Ferrari One Netbook may already have a dual-core chip and ATI graphics processor, but that may not be enough for some. To boost the video capabilities of this unit and add a few ports along the way, Acer has introduced an optional add-on, the DynaVivid Graphics Dock.
Using the proprietary ATI XGP interface (which is only available on the Ferrari One), the DynaVivid dock comes with a discrete ATI Mobility Radeon HD 4670 video chip onboard. This graphics card is capable of pushing 2,048 x 1,536 pixels on an external display via its onboard HDMI and VGA ports. This peripheral also includes six USB 2.0 slots for external devices.
However, don't entertain thoughts of using this unit on the road, as it requires an external power adapter. Though it weighs a mere 0.65kg, the huge 193.5 x 193.5 x 32.8mm footprint is certainly not pocket-friendly. The Acer DynaVivid Graphics Dock will be available in November for around US$199.

Can you put more specifications on this external graphic unit like whether it would boost the acer ferrari graphic's performance or just for the pushing of 2048 x 1536 pixel display? Would it replace the onboard ATI HD3200 and be using the ATI HD 4670 when plugged in?
