Wireless USB has been around for some time. But with the exception of a few Lenovo machines and a couple of wireless USB hubs, little has been done with this technology. The latest peripheral to revive interest in this standard comes in the form of Toshiba Dynadock Wireless U.
Designed for laptops, the Dynadock allows the portable to hook up with external devices and displays simply by plugging in a wireless USB dongle. The Dynadock unit itself holds one mini-USB and six USB 2.0 ports, DVI output and a Gigabit Ethernet plug. A built-in sound card supports 7.1-channel audio output as well.
The Toshiba Dynadock Wireless U is available in the US for US$149.99. We are still awaiting word on when, and if, this device will hit Asia markets.
