KUALA LUMPUR, Malaysia--Fashion tie-ups are not uncommon in the mobile industry, with LG and Samsung already making headway with
Prada and
Bang & Olusfen, respectively. Today, Nokia announced a collaboration with fashion retailer FJ Benjamin to launch the
N97 mini Raoul Limited Edition and a new Fashion Asia widget for the touchscreen smartphone at the OneConnectedWorld event in Kuala Lumpur.
The latter is also compatible with the
N97,
X6,
5530 XpressMusic,
5230 and
5800 XpressMusic. The widget will be preinstalled on the N97 mini, but users in Malaysia, Singapore, Indonesia and Thailand can also download the application from the
Ovi Store.
The Fashion Asia mini app lets the user access the latest news, brand collections, as well as locate stores via the built-in GPS feature. The limited-edition model will be bundled with a back cover emblazoned with Raoul signature stripes, calf-skin leather pouch, strap and packed in an equally exquisite Raoul box. According to Nokia, there will be only 1,000 pieces of the N97 mini Raoul Limited Edition in Singapore and another 1,000 in Malaysia. It will be available in October at S$1,138.
