Altec Lansing releases USB-powered Orbit speakers for laptops

Andrew Nusca  |  Sep 15, 2009

Altec Lansing introduced its USB-powered ultraportable Orbit speaker.

The Orbit's USB cable is used for audio input and power, doing away with the need for batteries and a 3.5mm audio jack.

It's perfect for augmenting your notebook's tinny speakers with something more powerful. The downside? With only a USB connection, that's all it's good for.

The OrbitUSB will be available this October for US$50.
