To most of us, a truck is used for delivering goods. But for Shaun Irving, a truck is a camera.
Irving was inspired by nature which he viewed as constantly changing. To him, the challenge of documenting nature was not a matter of which camera to use, but rather how big the shooter is. So he splurged his savings on a secondhand truck and modified into a pinhole camera on wheels.
His pinhole truck, named Peanut, works the same way as other pinhole cameras: Light enters through a small opening and a long exposure imprints the image on the medium. In Irving's case, the medium is a 3m-long photo paper inside the truck which he drives around to capture Mother Earth's portraits.
As of today, Irving's team have covered 7800km on the road and exhibited several times in Spain. For more on his project, click
