Soon, it'll just take a twitch of your nose a la Samantha in
Bewitched, and you can change TV channels, get the the coffee percolating, turn on the lights, strike the million-dollar jackpot. Ok, scratch that. But twitching your nose is a hight possibility with motion gesture already getting the ball rolling. The latest in line with this is LG, apparently so enamored by Nintendo's Wiimote that it's adopting the idea for a whole new line of TVs.
Its magic wand happens to be called the Magic Motion Remote Control, and waving it allows the user to control onscreen menus and games. For couch potatoes who find flicking a wrist far too much effort, the controller will also feature traditional channel and volume buttons.
With such a good thing on its hands, the Korean chaebol is a little undecided whether to bundle the Magic Motion Remote Control free with its high-end TVs or as an optional accessory when the wand goes on sale next year. By then, it doesn't require divination to predict that Samsung and all the major TV vendors would have conjured up their own motion-sensitive wands, and it won't be long before competition makes such features standard HDTV fare.
