Those waiting for the
Hero in Singapore and other Asia-Pacific countries may have a good idea now how much the device will cost. Earlier last month, HTC launched the Hero in
Taiwan with Chunghwa Telecom which priced it at NT20,900 (US$635) without contract.
Yesterday, the Taiwan-based company announced that its smartphone will be available in Malaysia from mid-September at RM2,399 (US$681) and bundled with a 2GB microSD card.
Update:
The Hero (both white and brown) will be available in Singapore from mid-September at S$898 (US$646.60) bundled with a 2GB microSD card.
The Hero is HTC's third Android smartphone and comes integrated with the new
Sense UI. In Malaysia, the Hero will be available in white and brown, although only the former has the Teflon coating.
HTC is holding a launch event for the Hero in Singapore this afternoon and we expect to hear about the pricing details soon.
