STUTTGART, GERMANY--The
N97 mini is Nokia's first attempt at introducing a scaled-down version of an existing Nseries phone, and it certainly looks like the company's not planning to stop at just one device.
During an interview with Axel Meyer, head of Design for Nokia Nseries, at the company's annual
Nokia World event, CNET Asia learned that there is a high possibility the Finnish outfit will roll out other mini versions of its Nseries mobiles.
Axel's response when asked: "Very possibly (we will launch other mini versions of Nseries handsets). I mean, definitely, by launching a mini (this) means that in the future, there might be other minis." While he concedes that he is not allowed to comment on future products, he believes it's a natural progression for the company.
Axel also shared some interesting insights on the design philosophy behind the Nseries devices. One point he brought up was the fact that while creating good content is important, the experience when using the device is the critical factor. To create that experience requires putting together the right elements. And this involves using the right materials and manufacturing processes, and looking at future trends while observing user needs.
