Acclaimed German imaging company Leica is holding a live Webcast on September 9 to announce its new products, and it has a promotional clip to tease shutterbugs on what to expect. Word is that the company will unveil the Leica M9 digital rangefinder, but will it? Considering that the firm has just unveiled the M8.2 last September, we think it is unlikely because this lineup usually doesn't refresh as fast. So take these with a pinch of salt, although the unexpected can also happen (hey, Nikon unleashed a camera with an onboard projector).

What's more likely is a Leica version of the just-announced Lumix DMC-GF1. The shape and look of the new Micro Four Thirds camera is akin to the vintage Leica CL rangefinder, so there's a high chance the German firm will unveil its own iteration.
But what a date to pick. On September 9, Apple will be showcasing its new iPod lineups. Will anyone remember Leica's announcement? We will, so check back then for updates.
