Of course, we still love the
ThinkPad W700ds. Who doesn't? After all, it comes with a cute little secondary panel that makes it just a little larger than its competitors (we are referring to the screen). But now there is another competitor that seeks to steal our hearts with not just one, but two full-sized displays in a laptop form factor.
Created by an Alaskan-based company, the
gScreen is a laptop targeting multimedia professionals who need a huge screen but yet insist on a (relatively) portable machine. Expected to weigh 5kg minimum, the first gScreen model will sport dual 15.4-inch overlapping displays that are LED-backlit. The unit can be used with a single LCD and, when the need arises, the second panel will slide out from behind to double the desktop space.
Under the hood, expect a Core 2 Duo processor, 4GB RAM and high-end Nvidia GeForce 9800M GT or Quadro FX 1700M graphics performance. The first units are expected to hit online retailer Amazon.com and will ship to Asia markets. Prices are not in yet, but chances are you'll probably need to start saving now.
