HTC just announced it will be bundling navigation software with its Android-powered Magic smartphone in Singapore. The Sygic Mobile Maps application is a fully featured program with features like turn-by-turn voice instructions and route guidance. That makes it more useful than the built-in Google Maps app in Android when it comes to driving instructions. Sygic's software is also available for other platforms such as iPhone OS and Windows Mobile.
This bundle is available starting today from HTC Magic devices bought through one of Singapore's three mobile operators. Don't expect it to be preinstalled if you buy the handset from a phone retailer. Current owners of the HTC Magic also won't be getting it as a download--this is for new purchases only. According to the company, this will also not be extended to the older HTC Dream and upcoming HTC Hero for now. If you are not in Singapore, contact your local HTC office or operator to find out if this bundle is heading your way, too.
