Nokia announces 5230 touchscreen phone, meh

Damian Koh  |  Aug 25, 2009

We're not sure whether the 5230 is part of the lineup that will be showcased at the upcoming Nokia World, but at this rate the announcements are streaming in, all the new devices may be unveiled before the official event even kicks off next week.

The 5230 is the fourth touchscreen smartphone from the Finnish outfit and is bundled with Comes With Music (CWM) in selected markets. It'll offer Assisted-GPS onboard, the latest version of Ovi Maps, a 3.2-inch 640 x 360-pixel touchscreen, quad-band GSM with HSDPA (Wi-Fi is noticeably missing), 2-megapixel camera, microSD expansion slot and a 3.5mm audio jack all at 149 euros when it launches next quarter globally. The CWM model will retail for 259 euros before tax and subsidies.
