It's been exactly six months since Ricoh announced the CX1, and now the Japanese company is introducing its successor, the CX2. The former was met with relatively good reception from photographers due to its expanded dynamic range feature, and the CX2 inherits this function, plus some upgrades to the zoom range and burst shooting mode.
Like its predecessor, the CX2 has a 28mm wide-angle lens. But its 10.7x optical zoom reaches to 300mm, compared with 200mm on the CX1. The new camera can rattle off at 5 frames per second (fps) at a full 9-megapixel resolution, a notch up from 4fps offered on the previous shooter.
Other than these incremental updates, other features on the CX2 remain the same: 3-inch 920k-resolution LCD, SD/SDHC memory card slot, and extensive exposure controls.
According to techblog
Engadget, the CX2 should be available in September for approximately US$495.
