Why bother with BlueTrack or Darkfield when you can DJ? (Credit: DJ-Tech)
The humble little mouse hooked to your computer may be a pretty boring peripheral, although that hasn't stopped companies like Logitech and Microsoft from engaging in some PR war over
whose sensor technology is superior.
Here's an interesting "rodent" that caught our eye: The DJ Mouse controller from
DJ-Tech. It comes in a bundle that includes the Deckadance DJ software and a DJ scratch mousepad. The biggest difference it has with other mice is the multifunction jog wheel located on the top which can scratch and cue tracks when used with Deckadance. That said, DJ-Tech also claims the mouse is compatible for all DJ applications.
For those who like to compute (or more likely, spin) in dark environments, the driver-less DJ mouse has a glowing blue ring to make it easier to see in the dark. The DJ Mouse also features a scroll wheel and standard mouse buttons that can be configured in Deckadance to trigger loops and samples, control knobs, fades or setting cue points. Check out the official video for a demonstration of the DJ Mouse's capability.
If you find yourself wanting more action after playing
DJ Hero, the DJ Mouse MP3 Mixing Software Kit is only US$93 with worldwide shipping from
its store.
