Other than the
two new Cyber-shots, Sony today also announced an interesting gadget--the Party-shot. This dock-like contraption accepts only the
Cyber-shot DSC-TX1 and
WX1, and is capable of rotating 360 degrees and tilting 24 degrees. By using a combination of the company's Smile Shutter and Face Detection technology, the camera attached to the Party-shot will seek out profiles and automatically take pictures. Let's just hope it doesn't snap any incriminating photos which can land your guests in trouble.
The Party-shot is powered by two AA-sized batteries and its literature states that it can last for up to 11 hours of continuous usage. Alternatively, you can use the
supplied optional AC adapter.
We'll be getting a Party-shot unit for a hands-on preview.
Update: Sony informed us that the Party-shot's AC adapter is an optional accessory and has to be purchased separately.

Are there like locks for this thing? What if someone decides that they want this instead of the party? o_O
