SingTel prepping for prepaid mobile broadband?

Update: Turns out SingTel already had a prepaid mobile broadband plan since June, though it was launched with so little fanfare that few people knew it even existed. Currently, there is only one plan available for the SingTel Prepaid Broadband on Mobile plan, which costs S$18 (US$12.99) for three days of unlimited 7.2Mbps surfing. However, unlike M1 or StarHub you cannot top up the value in the SIM card and will need to purchase and re-register for a new one. A starter kit which includes a SingTel-Huawei USB HSUPA modem is available at S$128 (US$92.35).

M1 started the ball rolling early this year, followed by StarHub. Now the largest telco operator in Singapore, SingTel, seems ready to leap into the prepaid mobile broadband fray. At least that seems to be the case, going by the Web site that is up.

Though there is currently no official news on its prepaid mobile broadband ambitions, we found a curious entry on SingTel's Web site that points to a page for checking on the expiry date for Prepaid Broadband on Mobile SIM cards.
