Claiming to be the world's first MP3 player based on the new Rockchip RK nano processor, there's nothing tiny about this Window W25 player with its massive 60-hour battery life that can beat a vast majority of music players on the market today.
The Rockchip RK nano in the W25 is a cheap processing unit made by Fuzhou Rockchip Electronics. Rockchips are one of the most commonly used processors in budget portable media players made in China. This latest chip features a very low power consumption, hence the long playtime.
That said, the W25 offers a pretty meager file format support. This encompasses only MP3, WMA, APE, FLAC and WAV (LC-AAC/OGG).
However, the best part of this player is its price. US$15 buys you a 2GB music player that lasts for 60 hours of playback with the built-in rechargeable battery. What more can you ask for?
Currently in China, we won't be surprised if this makes a leap into surrounding Asia markets like Hong Kong and Taiwan through parallel channels.
