The 3-hour outlook zoomed in on the south of Singapore using the new mobile site.
Singapore's National Environment Agency (NEA) has created a mobile site for users to get detailed weather information in the country. Pointing your mobile phone's browser to the URL (weather.nea.gov.sg) will show the day's general forecast. You can then click on links to find out in greater detail what the weather will be like over the next three days, 12 hours and 3 hours. The 3-hour forecast is particularly interesting as it lets you zoom in on individual areas of Singapore so you can decide whether to bring an umbrella before heading outdoors.
Some smartphone users may find this mobile site redundant because of their own weather apps or widgets. But it could be a useful tool for regular phone users as it can be easily accessed from any browser. The map used was provided by Microsoft and weather data is updated by NEA every 5 minutes. We tried it out and it said the weather is fair. We looked out the window and the sun was scorching. Close enough.
