Toshiba has just announced a pair of HD-ready LCD TVs from its latest Regza AV600-series. The 32- and 37-inchers offer cosmetic facelifts and minor enhancements over their AV550 predecessors. Most notable are their dual HDMI terminals featuring 1080p signal-compatibility. Both panels also have larger speaker drivers that can be used to pump up the volume, though the company may have overlooked picture quality--there's negligible improvement in the TVs' dynamic contrast ratio as well as response time.
Pricing-wise, the
32AV600 and
37AV600 are slightly more affordable than some their rivals at S$1,099 (US$791.50) and S$1,499 (US$1,079.58), respectively. These models will be launched in Singapore shortly. There was no further detail on other screen sizes, as well as availability and pricing for the rest of Asia.
