The Asus Eee PC family has a new member, and it's also the largest Netbook in its stable to date. The
Eee PC 1101HA is the first Asus Netbook to sport an 11.6-inch panel. A cross between the
Acer Aspire One 751 and
Gateway LT3104g, the 1101HA combines the high-resolution 1,366 x 768-pixel panel of the latter with the Atom guts of the former.
There is a slight twist in the hardware,. though. Instead of the Atom N series processor with Intel GMA 950 graphics processor, this unit uses the Atom Z chip and GMA 500 video card. The latter has slightly better graphics performance than the GMA 950 variant, though it is still hardly considered a gaming device. Other notable specs include:
Intel Atom Z520 1.33GHz processor
1GB RAM
11.6-inch, 1,366 x 768-pixel panel
Intel GMA 500 graphics
160GB HDD
802.11a/b/g/n with Bluetooth
Integrated Webcam
Windows XP Home Edition
Up to 11 hours of battery life
The pricing and exact availability in Asia are not firm yet, though an Asus representative stated that the unit will definitely be retailing in this region.
