You don't have to mortgage your house to own a Sharp LED-backlit LCD TV anymore. The Japanese company has just announced a more affordable lineup in the US, following its recently launched S$32,999 (US$23,810.52)
65-inch whopper. The latest LE700-series Aquos HDTVs incorporate a newly developed X-Gen panel and proprietary UltraBrilliant LED backlighting technology, enabling an ultra-high 2,000,000:1 dynamic contrast ratio. Fast-moving images are also faithfully rendered via the TV's onboard 120Hz Fine Motion Enhanced engine and fast 4ms response time.
To further spice up the LE700 line, Sharp is offering its Aquos Net Web-based services that can be used to access everyday information from stock prices to weather and traffic reports. There're even casual online games such as
BlackJack and
Sudoku to keep you entertained, as well as the Aquos Gallery to playback 1080p photos depicting scenery and nature. Connectivity-wise, these full-HD panels are loaded with three HDMI 1.3 inputs with Deep Color-compatibility. Pricing ranges from US$1,099.99 to S$2,799.99 for its 32-inch to 52-inch models, respectively. We'll have to wait and see if the LE700 will trickle into Asia.
