Nobody has ever accused gamers of being style icons, and the latest gaming portable from Asus shows it with its angular hard edges. The Taiwan maker claims the new G51 gaming portable is a midsized machine with the performance of a desktop replacement. The design of this laptop, with its metallic chassis and angular motifs, is inspired by robots from manga and other science-fiction literature.
Under the hood, this monster sports a high-end 1GB Nvidia GeForce GTX 260M in a midsized frame with a full-HD 15.6-inch panel. According to Asus, fitting in this video card was a challenge as it is actually meant for a desktop replacement. The sound system is apparently impressive, thanks to Creative's EAX and CMSS technologies to boost audio output.
Prices are not firm at this time, but we should be seeing the unit in Asia markets by August.
