After withdrawing its notebooks from the Asia-Pacific markets, Korean manufacturer Samsung seems ready to take a tentative step back into the region. The
Samsung NC310 will hit Singapore in July, though eager beavers can catch a glimpse of this machine at the vendor's booth during next week's PC Show 2009 to be held at the Singapore Suntec International Convention and Exhibition Centre.
The Samsung NC310 is essentially your average Netbook running on Intel's Atom chipset with 1GB RAM and Windows XP Home Edition. What sets this machine apart is its design. The matt plastic body has bubbly color tones, which will probably appeal to your average school-going kid or adult with a quirky fashion sense. What's more important is that this machine will mark Samsung's return to the region, though with a whisper rather than a big bang as only Singapore will be getting this unit at this time.
Pricing details are not available at this time, but it has been reported that the unit will retail in the US for US$510, which will put it on the higher-end range of Netbook pricing. At this time, only the black model is slated for an appearance come July.
