Is iWakeUp the antidote for even the most persistently hard-to-rouse sleepers. (Credit: Memorex/Imation)
Film collectors may remember a 1941 movie titled
I Wake Up Screaming, which more aptly describes Memorex's iWakeUp Clock Radio for the iPod (S$138 (US$98.04)) just out in Singapore. It's certainly devious in intent since the alarm volume will increase every 5 seconds till it reaches maximum volume, enough apparently to wake the dead along with heavy snoozers. If intent isn't sufficient, the iWakeUp features a dual alarm system for different schedules, as well as 2.75-inch speakers to make its point heard loud and clear.

Not so fiendish after all. The Snooze button takes up the entire face of the device, so you can't miss when you want to steal a couple more minutes of shut eye. (Credit: Memorex/Imation)
Its other less perverse duties include being a radio as well as a universal dock to charge and power your iPod. Memorex is retailing only the black edition in the island state, so you'll have to look overseas for the iPod white matching version. Now all that's needed is to marry this with the best (or worst, depending on your view) of the
Tyrant and runaway
Clocky, and we'll have a whole new level of sadistic.
