Though the global economy looks bleak enough without the swine flu epidemic aggravating the situation, there's one bright spot for shoppers. With everyone throwing warehouse parties these days to snag consumer pockets, there's never been a better time to shop for electronics goods in Singaproe. Apart from the usual four PC fairs each year that see a gathering of key consumer electronics brands under one roof, there's been a noticeable trend for retailers to venture outside of their usual sales channels and platforms.
Only last month, bargain hunters had a field day at Court's first-ever warehouse sale of branded tech products. Now, here's another slated for the weekend, called
License 2 Play. Advertised as a gaming and electronics fair, this runs at Suntec City Level 6, at Hall 603, from May 22 to 24. If this trend is indicative of the shape of tech retail to come, shoppers looking for a deals can expect to be seriously spoilt for choice. Though how this cannibalizing of consumer wallets will impact the four PC shows remains to be seen.
