What will Apple deliver with the next-gen iPhone?
The next iPhone will have twice the processing power, a longer battery life, an OLED screen and a rubberized backing. If blogsite Apple iPhone Apps' source is to be believed, the rumored smartphone will also get a 3.2-megapixel camera with video recording, MMS capabilities, a built-in FM transmitter, onboard compass, turn-by-turn navigation, and an illuminated Apple logo at the back.
That's not all. A bump in storage capacities to 16GB and 32GB is expected. Plus there will be tighter integration of the camera, GPS, compass and Maps to provide location- and product-specific information simply by pointing the shooter at an object. Else not much was mentioned on the design of the new handset, other than that the silver rim on the current
iPhone will be dropped and the upcoming device made sleeker.
Apple iPhone Apps claims its source is reputable. But since Apple traditionally has a no comment stand on upcoming product releases, we won't know if these hearsays are real until the Cupertino company makes an official announcement. The consolation is that July 17 isn't too far off. In the meantime, we have the Palm Pre to look forward to in just a fortnight.
