The upcoming Acer F1 smartphone.
Though the focus was on its series of Windows Mobile (WM) 6.1 handhelds today, Acer also took the opportunity to provide a teaser about its lineup for the second half of 2009. The four upcoming products are codenamed F1, L1, C1 and E1 and will all run on Microsoft's latest WM6.5 operating system.
The F1 will be launched in September this year. It comes with a 3.8-inch WVGA (800 x 480) touchscreen display, and according to earlier reports, uses the 800MHz Qualcomm Snapdragon processor. A 1GHz version of that chip first came into prominence when Toshiba announced that it will power its upcoming TG01 smartphone. More details and pictures after the jump.

The L1 slider in red.
Targeted at the design-conscious crowd switching from regular mobile phones to smartphones, the L1 is a slide-out model with a 3-inch touchscreen display. Three colors, including one in red, were shown off during Acer's presentation.
Also available in a choice of multiple colors is the C1. This is meant to be an easy-to-use smartphone for Internet browsing and emails. It will come with a jog wheel for navigation and has a simple interface. Another similar model, the E1, will sport the same features but come with only EDGE connectivity, not HSDPA. The handset is meant for emerging markets.
It's apparent that the design language for these devices differs greatly from the current models, with a greater focus on the aesthetics and color options. No further specifications of these smartphones are available but we will bring you updates as Acer releases more information.
