Wafer-thin HDTV announced

Philip Wong  |  Jan 05, 2009

CES
Will it ever end? The ongoing pursuit for ultrathin HDTVs is entering a new chapter with Samsung announcing its upcoming 6.5mm-thick Luxia LCD TVs. Slated for debut during the coming CES 2009, these ridiculously slim panels feature LED backlighting, upgraded 240Hz motion-enhancement engine and intelligent power-saving technology.

You might assume that they are probably bedroom-sized TVs. But according to Akihabara News, the Luxia is available for screen sizes ranging from a 40 to a theatrical 55 inch. Other information such as detailed specs, availability and pricing were not ready at press time.

Whoa! Are these legal? I mean somebody could turn these into sharp weapons or something really dangerous. Definitely looking very good, especially for those with a minimalist sensitivity. I haven't even saved enough for a Series 5, 6 or 8 and now this! REALLY NEED TO WIN THE LOTTO to get one or two of these!
