It may not have a presence at the upcoming
SITEX 2008 fair, but that doesn't mean you can't get a good offer on Zepto portables. An interesting feature is the upgradeable graphics cards (GPU) which allows you to upgrade the GPU in the future for a fee. If you are looking for a powerful gaming machine but are one a tight budget, check out the Zepto Nexus A15 which costs only S$1,899 (US$1,367.27)
Zepto Nexus A15 specifications:
2.26GHz Core 2 Duo P8400 processor
2GB RAM
250GB HDD
15.4-inch display
512MB Nvidia GeForce 9650M GT
DVD writer
Windows Vista Home Premium
If this is still not good enough, you can easily configure a more powerful machine at the
Zepto Asia Web site. But before you check that out, Zepto gave us a heads up on a special deal during the SITEX period. From November 26 to 29, typing in "cneter" in the discount coupon field will give you a 4 percent discount on Nexus, Mythos, Nox and Hydra laptops. This discount is on top of the normal price reductions given on the Web site, so in fact, you can enjoy up to 10 percent off from the list price. In case you're wondering, this is not a tie-up between CNET Asia and Zepto so anyone can use the coupon code, regardless if they are CNET members or not.
If you are hoping to score a Hydra A17 with full-HD display and Nvidia GeForce 9800M GTX graphics card and don't mind that it's not in mint condition, there is one review unit going for 8 percent off. Just enter "hydrapressunit" in the discount coupon field.
However, you should be aware that the brand is being imported by a local distributor. It won't take too long for minor repairs but if your unit needs a major overhaul, then the service period might be quite long.
