Although Boot Camp on Mac OS X Leopard allows for dual-booting Windows and Mac operating systems, you'll still need third-party software to be able to use both platforms at the same time. Enter Parallels, one of the few software which allows an Apple machine to use both Mac and Windows programs at the same time.
Its latest iteration,
Parallels Desktop 4.0, not only runs faster but also promises a host of new features. You can now access remote storage devices on both platforms at the same time, while value-added programs such as Acronis True Image 11 Home and Acronis Disk Director Suite 10 are bundled for free. Best of all, if you purchased Parallels Desktop 3.0 after September 1, you can get a
free upgrade. Otherwise, it costs US$39.99 to upgrade and US$79.99 for a fresh installation.
