It's official. After
weeks of speculation, SingTel has finally said that it will be launching the iPhone 3G on August 22, making Singapore one of the 20 countries to be getting the much talked-about handset from Apple on that day.
Except for Macau, we now have a confirmed date for the release of the iPhone 3G throughout Asia Pacific. Those following the news closely will remember that Australia,
Hong Kong, Japan and New Zealand are the four countries in this region to have already launched the coveted mobile phone on July 22.
When contacted, SingTel still wasn't ready to reveal pricing information. Its spokesperson did say that both the cost of the iPhone 3G as well as its accompanying price plans will be unveiled next week. Those in Singapore, keep your fingers crossed for an inexpensive unlimited data plan.

i hope Singtel would realise that the initial pricing will be very critical when the iphone gets introduced, considering they won't jack-up the original intended price USD199~SGD280~8GB / USD299~SGD420~16GB models as per subscription cap, with a potential wave of users switching service/s to either telco camps (Starhub+M1 VS Singtel)
