Will you get an iPhone 3G?

Damian Koh  |  Jul 14, 2008

So the big news last week was the launch of the iPhone 3G, first in New Zealand, followed by Australia, Japan and Hong Kong. For those of you in Macau, Singapore and the Philippines, it looks like you still have to wait.

We're not sure at this point of time if there's a gag order, because no one we know is able (or willing) to say when the remaining three countries will launch the iPhone 3G. We already know approximately how much it costs to own one (judging from the price plans offered by some of the telcos in the region). And it's not cheap.

So the question now is: Will you get an iPhone 3G? Or if you have already gotten your hands on an unlocked one, share with us and our readers your personal experience.

Nope, since Iphone excell only in fashion, that's mean the feature and look is superb, but when it's come to usability, it's not good at all.

Never bought the 1st Iphone since it has no 3G. Now its has 3G but no video call & MMS, a basic feature thats can be found in most 3G phone. NOT BUYING EITHER! Always shorts of something that get you frustrated & disapointed.

tot of buying. But after much thought about it decided not to "follow Wind". SORRY, i cant close 1 eye and do w/o MMS. i have used ipod touch b4 and i think their interface is fantstic and plus its easy to use! but then i shall wait. technologies changes very fast... n until they come out with smeting that i think is perfect to me then i will get it. okok i would prefer a mre shock, dust and water resistant type of phone. lol greedy rite?!

No, not even if it comes free under a 24-month contract. The only thing the iPhone has advantage over the rest is the user interface. I can pick up a 1990's Motorola and use it immediately, so I can live with a PocketPC, and I don't need the fashion.

well...i've been use the iPhone (not the 3G =)) for about 6 months +...and i actually very satisfied with it...although there's no SMS delivery report, MMS, Video Recording, blablabla...it is very convenient to used and tons of application you can download it over the air via wifi/GPRS, no need to search via google or any other forum for the apps. the pushmail quite usefull and convenient too, coz i can set my yahoo mail in this phone no need to register via PC (but BB still the best i think). and now via 3rd apps it can MMS, video recording and the video recording is quite good for the quality, video wallpaper, video ringtone, read office documents, read PDF. for the 3G...hmm...need to see the pricing first...but if it is as advertised half the price...definitely yes..will go for the 3G, i've read it has GPS built in too...

i currently own an unlocked iphone. the iphone is one of those things that looks good, feels good, does what it does, and allows your to do more than what other phones allow you to. if i may, it "flies" before it "walks", and really, "it does not walk well". (the fly aspect) let me elaborate. yes, you have apps that do just about anything. you have an accelerometer within, which allows you to do much more, the camera shutter is rather fast, touch screen, and keyboard interface is very sensitive. (the walk aspect) loud speaker is echo-ey on the other side, because loud speaker and mic is SIDE BY SIDE AT THE BOTTOM OF PHONE! music is not wonderful via speakers. base is hopeless, and treble is.... well, lets just say that for a music phone, it's limitations are rather... drastic. (sony-E's W series are really, much better iphone's interface is the only thing better in the music aspect) phone hangs a lot here and there the earpiece included is HOPELESS for listening to music, and it is hard to find an earpiece which has a mouth piece, and with the same adapter. and c'mon, a phone that does not have the MMS function? nor the ability to send an sms to more than 2 people? sheesh! honestly, there are many things that maeks one detest against using an iphone altogether. but the programs you can get, does patch up for many of the countless flaws about this ... .. device, but at the same time, it does unlock a wide range of possibilities.. lets just see what you like =D
