Dell's new Studio range is no longer a rumor and forms a new niche between the budget Inspirons and high-end XPS laptops.
The lineup includes the 17-inch
Studio 1735 and 15-inch
Studio 1535, both based on the same chassis design which borrows elements from the
XPS M1530. It seems Dell has the idea that most entertainment laptops are used in the dark, as both models come standard with a backlit keyboard. A mini remote control and HDMI output have also been added to the mix, though we were a little disappointed that a sub-woofer, TV tuner and S/PDIF port were nowhere to be seen.
These units will be available in Asia by July, though pricing details are not given at this time. We have both units undergoing tests in our Lab, so stay tuned for our reviews on Dell's new Studio range.
