BERLIN, GERMANY--The Voodoo Envy 133 is perhaps the sexiest notebook announced today at the HP Connecting Your World event in Berlin. We know you'll want to see it up close, so here are the pictures that I managed to snap.
The Envy 133 weighs 1.5kg, is about 17mm thick, and has a mix of carbon fibre casing and fused composite glass chassics. It's keyboard has well-defined keys with excellent tactility. The unit that was on display was still a technical set, but according to the specifications, the keyboard will have white backlighting.
To the right, there's an eSATA and a USB port.
And on the left, you can see the HDMI and a headphone/microphone jack.
The power adapter cable lights up when it's connected to the notebook.
This is the power brick. It comes with a built-in Ethernet port.
Also part of the accessories pack is the HDMI-VGA adapter. There's also a external optical disk drive which is not shown in the picture.
The trackpad is not only large. As you can see from the picture, it has a rather unique "dotted" design element to it. According to a representative we spoke to, this design is to keep the surface of the palm rest area flush.
The Envy 133 will be available this summer with a base price of US$2,099. And, no, it won't be available in Asia. At least not yet.
