Earlier this week, we first wrote about
HP launching its first UMPC in late spring, but it seems that gadget blog site Engadget has posted what it claims are pictures of the actual machine. The UMPC, named HP Compaq 2133, comes with a scratch-resistant 8.9-inch WXGA screen and weighs just 1.13kg. According to the specs posted, it also features a 95-percent full-sized QWERTY keyboard, wireless LAN, ExpressCard slot, anodized aluminum casing and an optional SSD drive. It can be configured to run either Windows Vista or Linux.
From the images, it seems that the UMPC will also be equipped with an onboard Webcam and two-button trackpad. No information yet on prices or availability but we are expecting to get more updates from HP soon.

That is a major dissapointment. HP you should have just looked at the past HPC devices. The Jornada 720/728 was the big seller and their bulky 820 which this looks like did not sell well. It is way way too big. I want a jacket pocket handhelds UMPC like their old Jornada 720.
UMPC's should be filling the void between laptop/subnotebooks and PDA's. To to that it needs to be mobile enough to fit into a jacket pocket, have a touch type keyboard, and run full windows.

I donot understand why people complaint UMPC size is too big.
If you need something small please stick with PDA or mobile phone. They are all designed for it.
UMPC target for certain market of people. It is marketed for People who:
1. Donot like to squint their eyes to read ebook or doc or even a website
2. Donot like to carry heavy item just to read simple doc or ebook (email already been taken care by most of existing mobile phone)
3. Rigid enough for field user, in comparison to notebook
4. Reasonably priced so people can replace this once a year without taxing our wallet. Something cannot be done for most people who has notebook.
