Correction: The original version of this article misstated the 12WX's power requirements. The Wacom Cintiq 12WX requires an AC power source to operate.
Come December, in Asia, you'll be able to buy a new 12.1-inch tablet that displays in widescreen (16:10). It will be fanless, silent and won't burn your thighs. It doesn't come with a keyboard, but it does come with a spiffy 1,024-pressure pen. And you don't even need to spend money on future upgrading, since it doesn't need RAM or an operating system.
And this tablet will cost roughly S$2,482*.
If you've not already guessed, we are not describing a tablet PC. We are talking about a real drawing tablet. And at that price, it's well, pricey.
The Wacom Cintiq 12WX is an interactive pen display. That means it's really high-end. Because, instead of penning on a tablet that's on a table while awkwardly relating your handiwork to the riffraff on the computer monitor, the 12WX lets you draw directly
on the screen, all in a portable device.
Now that's a cool and expensive canvas.
At press time, Wacom Asia was unable to furnish pricing for Asia.
*This price is based on a currency conversion from the retail price in the UK and may vary from region to region.
