LG Prada: AMD inside

While our European counterparts already have their paws on the LG Prada phone, we Asians have only the knowledge that an AMD Imageon media processor powers the handheld and an unspecific launch date to contend with.

According to LG Singapore, the LG Prada will be available between the first and second week of May. No pricing details. However you'll be able to catch a glimpse of it at selected Prada boutiques across Asia.

Fashionistas probably couldn't care less about what goes under the hood of the LG Prada, but for geeks like us, we're more interested in the engine that gets the whole "fashion" thing going. To that, AMD announced today that its AMD Imageon 2282 media processor is what powers the rich multimedia features of the handset, not to mention the unique touch interface.

AMD has made its voice heard. Intel inside for the upcoming Apple iPhone, anyone?
