Spending money on a Webcam may not be justified for those who do video calls once in a long while. Ateksoft WebCamera Plus 1.05 could be the answer to that, an application for Windows Mobile devices that turns the handheld's camera into a Webcam. Desktop programs supported include popular ones like Skype, MSN Messenger and Yahoo Messenger. This isn't freeware, but at US$19.90, it is still significantly cheaper than a dedicated Webcam.
They don't call this the Mini Road Rage Therapy Kit for nothing. For those who remember the good old carnival days of dodgem cars, these mini motorized versions are a fun ride down memory lane. Best of all, you get to tailgate and ram every car in sight, without getting a ticket for it. The remote controls come with horn and joystick to control your vehicle's direction, while sound effects include a "Ding, Ouch" noise if you hit your opponent's side sensor. And if you're the first to reach 25 hits, your dodgem even lets out a diabolical laugh. Bummer, for the loser that is.

Ricoh has announced the Caplio R6, a compact digicam equipped with a 7.1x wide zoom (28 - 200mm) lens barrel that would certainly enable this tiny camera to capture more than its non-wide-angled brethren. Already available in Singapore at S$799 (US$587.50), the R6 takes after its predecessor, the R5 with its CCD-shift image stabilizer, but with the addition of a face-detection feature that has been cropping up in most new digicams and a 2.7-inch screen. Internal memory has also been upped to 54MB in comparison to the R5 (26MB)
