LG showcased its Shine slider in silver at its recent launch in Korea, but it seems a gold version of the sleek handset could well be in the pipeline. This phone prototype was spotted by CNET Asia during a tour of the company's design center in Seoul. However, don't get your hopes too high yet as LG has not confirmed if the gold LG Shine will ever make its way to Asia.

Before you sniff at these as toys right out of Spy Kids' crazy gizmo lab, these Walkie Talkie Watches were apparently considered competent enough for the Nowegian Winter Olympic team at last year's Winter Olympics. What's good enough for world-class professionals has gotta be good enough for us plebs, right? Speaking of handy, these two-way radios pack full clock function, voice activation, stopwatch, alarm, backlight, a 3km range, and 300 channel combos for discreet yakking. What, no Bluetooth or FM radio onboard? Guess, you can't have it all with the battery being so tiny. No licence is needed, though it's best to check with the local authorities. Other than that, be warned that wearing this chunky watch with antenna can imbue you with an instant nerd halo.
There's no shame in not being able to identify the Sega Toys mu-bot as earphones. The arms of this figurine extend to reach the ears, while the body is clipped onto your shirt or bag strap. It's a neat way of cable management, and incredibly cute to boot. Where do you plug in the MP3 player in then? Well, let's just say it's in an unsavory position at the rear of the mu-bot. Goes on sale on April 21 in Japan for about US$24. More images of Sega Toys mu-bot
Squeezing all three into the same lens is tough, but Tokyo-based lens maker Sigma has done just that with a model with a 200-500mm zoom range. It's got a wide aperture, F2.8, for taking higher-speed shots.
But there's a catch: The lens weighs 40kg.
The company is showing off a prototype here at the Photo Marketing Association trade show.
The mammoth lens, about three feet long, is a prototype but will go on sale, said Yousuke Yamazaki, a mechanical designer for Sigma. The lens has two motors, one for zoom and one for focusing. It also has a digital display that indicates the focal distance setting.
