Cellular carrier Cingular has recently announced that the much-awaited
Apple iPhone will be released on June 11 in the US. This is the first time a confirmed date has been announced after Steve Job indicated at
January's Macworld Expo that the iPhone will be released sometime in June this year.
According to our sister site,
Crave.cnet.com, the date is no coincidence as it is the first day of Apple's Worldwide Developers Conference which will be held in San Francisco from June 11 to 15. No further information was released. It's still a long wait for those of us in Asia as the iPhone is expected to be launched here only in 2008.
