D40X: Aging the D40

Edvarcl Heng  |  Mar 06, 2007

Retirement. That must be what the D40 was thinking when its successor, the D40X, was announced today. Just a few months after the D40 was released, it's already old hat. The D40X goes one up on the D40 with a 10.2-megapixel sensor versus the D40's now paltry 6.1-megapixel offering. For the same-sized dimensions, the D40X packs a lower base sensitivity (ISO 100) and a faster burst mode (3fps vs. 2.5fps). The D40X is projected to launch in Asia on March 29. Compare them here
