Taiwanese handheld maker Dopod announced that it will include the BlackBerry Connect software on its
838 Pro PDA-phone and recently launched
C720W smart phone for customers in Asia. According to the press release, this is made possible due to a licensing agreement between High Tech Computer (HTC) and Research In Motion (RIM).
With this latest update, Dopod owners can now use the C720W and 838 Pro to access BlackBerry services such as the BlackBerry Enterprise Server and Black Internet Service, while at the same time, continue to enjoy the option of using Microsoft's Direct Push services for emails, contacts, data and tasks. The BlackBerry Connect software will initially be introduced for Dopod owners in Hong Kong, Singapore and Malaysia, with availability in the other Asian countries announced at a later date.
If you already own a Dopod 838 Pro, you can download the BlackBerry software from Dopod's Web site
