Can't say we're terrible excited about these. Bad enough there're heelies and squeakies, now our local TV station is offering music-playing sneakers in a contest, to complement the awesome lung power of those terrible tiny totes. These footwear can apparently play the wearer's favorite tunes, thanks to a High Density Flash Memory. The shoes also have enough onboard smarts to keep count of the number of movements that the owner is making. We've no idea, though, what's powering this, how you transfer songs into the flash memory, or why the heck it's even called Kap!On when it's more of a Shoe! In. Go figure.
We've seen previous iterations of the all-almighty ape propping up SLRs comfortably. The deal gets only sweeter from here with support for zoom lenses.
The heavy-duty Gorilla now lifts a weight of up to 3kg and your own tripod head. That's good news for photogs with bulky lenses. Like previous versions, the Gorillapod SLR-Zoom also has three flexible "legs" with rubber grips. You can own one for US$49.95 here.
In case one thinks that the Palm OS is dead, having seen Palm switch camps to Windows Mobile on its Treo 750v, that's not about to happen. It's announced that it will be shipping its latest Palm OS-powered cellular handheld, the Treo 680, to Asia come December 8. A company representative has confirmed that Singapore will be first among the Asia-Pacific countries to get the new PDA-phone, though no dates have been set for the rest of the region.
It's official. The BlackBerry Pearl will finally make its way to Asia. We've just received an invitation from Research In Motion (RIM) for the launch event in Singapore on November 30. There is no operator or pricing information for now, but we are expecting to get the full details in the official press release which will be given only at the event. So stay tuned for more updates.
From the looks of it, lots of people are making speaker docks for the iPod and precious few are devoting design resources to Creative's Zen players. So the Singapore-based manufacturer has decided to go full hog with a range of decidedly delicious speakers. With a full set of designer chomps, these look good enough to munch the iPod Hi-Fi for tea.
There's lots of technical oomph on these speakers as well. The Z600 packs in the X-Fi sound system while the Z500 has a telescopic FM antenna to take advantage of the Zen Vision:M's radio capabilities. S$599 (US$394.08) for the Z600, S$299 (US$196.71) for the Z500 and S$199 (US$130.92) for the TravelSound ZEN V.
