Stream multimedia with Netgear

Philip Wong  |  Sep 26, 2006

The iTV may have wowed attendees at Apple's recent press event in San Francisco, but Netgear's EVA700 media streamer is expected to be available sooner.

If you are sick and tired of looking suspicious when the glow of the PC monitor is all that illuminates your body in a darken room, then it's time to move your night-time screen out of your bedroom and into your living room. The EVA700 streams multimedia content from the PC, network storage drives and USB devices right to your big-screen TV. It is compatible with most common video and audio formats, which can be sent via the Ethernet port and played through the RCA connectors, S-video port or a SCART connector. It is due in stores for the end-of-the-year holiday spree and expected to cost around US$269 (S$426.73).
